lirik lagu aspiring poet – please help if you can.
h-llo, my name is aizaia. i am not going to waste your time and i don’t want a thousand posts about going someplace else or bumps or anything of the sort. i came specifically here because i feel what better a place to look for guidance or mentoring than a place where people willingly spend time talking about rap/hip-hop?
i dont understand how to write rap/rap linguistics
but i understand the artists. if that makes sense…
i want to be able to write my feelings but in the way the emcees i idolize would yknow? and not to be cool but to maybe help me alleviate my anxiety/depression. i feel i could be really good at this but i need to be tought the right way yknow?
an example of writing
you know how if a rapper is sad they say it kinda cryptic?
like this. instead of i am stressed cause my girl is pregant and im broke and need to sell drugs to feed everyone they say “walked in the crib got two kids and my baby moma late..uh oh uh oh..” yknow? or like we were driving around smoking weed and tobacco and really high they say “late night cruising fusing the green with the cubans so swift we moving through clouds intruding” yknow?
i need pointers/ways to remember and learn flow and bars and how to map a rap properly
now. the thing is this, i have been writing off and on for years. words have always bore much meaning in my life and so has music. i am not saying i intend to be famous or putting on any form of front. i feel it would be therapeutic to rap. i have tried and tried and looked in many places for help but there are things i still don’t understand and even and intermediate emcee could give me even basic pointers. i am willing to study and practice because i already have many hours but you don’t get better practicing something the wrong way. rap has a formula, a language, a certain tw-ng to it. i have listened to and been fascinated by it from g-unit to gil scott to mac miller. my favorite emcees are modern because i am young and it only makes sense i idolize younger people but i do have older emcees i enjoy such as mf doom and raekwon
finally i want to learn how to think like a rapper lyrically. i think there is a thought process to rap because you dont noramlly think “since 95 mommas been workin 95 and i know the landlord fed up with odd lies”. you know what i mean emcees…i know you do. please help me…i want this so bad…for real. i know i could do it
please help me? teach an aspiring emcee, take me under your wing? help me learn. guide me. someone had to of guided you. or maybe i’m not as clever as you either way…please?
