it was a really, really great time in my life, and i like to think back at it sometimes
i’m being reminiscent of those early mornings
mom and dad were asleep, and mario was performing
64, kart, golf, tennis
super smash brothers on the screen kept me replenished
but none better than pokemon, the gem of the consoles
momma read me bye bye b-tterfree so much, she’d wanna tear out my tonsils
but it’s been with me ever since
from the cities of the johto to crowning black and white’s prince
and beyond that, never treasured anything more
and to this very day i still play nintendo 64
pokemon stadium 2, still gotta choose from the rentals
crystal version outta battery even though it’s essential
i need a replacement, only a couple of bucks
but to the little kid who’s still me who’d never shut up
it would be a million dollars, and probably bring tears to my eyes
i know exactly where to go, it shouldn’t be a surprise
my favorite city is olivine, something about the sea
it’s funny who the hoenn protagonist had turned out to be
moved away straight from the steel city of jasmine
i wanna sit on the shores of the beach just to see what would happen
cianwood in the distance, ecruteak left behind
the holy towers of ho-oh, granting the wishes of mankind
and you get to visit kanto, man that’s 16 gyms
besides the ds remakes, we haven’t had 16 since
now that’s a cl-ssic, to genwunners let me say it right now
saying one gen is the best i something that i won’t allow
every single game is someone’s first ever journey
still jealous that black 2 and white 2 had that world tourney
hoenn had the frontier, sinnoh had resorts
i got nothing but love for each game and their ports
but crystal version was the first time that i set out from home
and every victory i earned made me feel so much more grown
they were the greatest. i know that crystal may not be the latest
but to me the battle at mt. silver always had felt fated
from lance the dragon master to blue’s fall from the top
it all made my childhood wonderful, i hope they never stop x3
