which taught me that bme wasn’t what i thought it to be
stressed and depressed failure written on my chest
i must confess i shut myself from the rest
i go alone to eat at marketplace
stuff my face and get out in a haste
i shoot hoops in brodie till i got bored
work at perkins till the early morn’
but then came rush week and i thought to myself
perhaps i could wear vineyard vines and flaunt my wealth
i could blow money to get blown as a part of a frat
but i stuck doing work in perkins for pratt
yet i sure as hell wasn’t sorry
the time i balled with my homeboy jabari
before the game where we squeezed orange juice
drank the remains of what was once syracuse
i got my pick ? in the sports illustrated
beyond my face i look heavily medicated
but hey what can i say i was in a very fucked up place

then we celebrated as national champions
