they were dressed in black

so we knew it must be sonic youth
we followed them down main street, usa
into tomorrowland and into adventureland
through the magic castle
we wore mouse ears so they wouldn’t notice us
i mean, it’s really ironic that we saw sonic youth at disney world
i mean, we’re from new york, they’re from new york
i mean, it really is a small world
and i was thinking to myself
“boy it’s really a small world”
right when i was walking past that place that’s called
“it’s a small world after all”
or something like that
i mean it’s really ironic
that’s really strange, don’t you think?
we saw thurston moore talking to goofy
we saw kim gordon trying on pluto sunglasses
we saw the nerdy drummer eating french fries
but we didn’t see lee r~n~ldo
we saw some woman with dreads
but no one in sonic youth has dreads
turns out she was with greenpeace
i didn’t know they were hunting whales in disney world
i know it seems kinda weird for sonic youth to be at disney world
i mean, it’s kinda weird but it’s not like we’re obsessed or anything
you know?
i mean, it’s not like we’re stalkers or anything
it’s not like we’re strange or anything
i mean, we’re just
we’re just like really shy you know?

they were loud
