ruffer employed volunteers to replace my dad
from a job he was proud of, been replaced with bad
incapable teenagers, who didn’t even make money
all so ruffer could invest in thermal energy
we saved his prized posessions from burning
but i wish i didn’t, because while this world is turning
ruffer is earning fat stacks in this auckland project
but to me, it seems like he’s trying to project
his own insecurities into the town, invested in arts
and drama but he’s looking like a clown
kynren is abysmal, a waste of some prime hunting land
just so he could line his pockets, ain’t that sad?
then he constructed that d~mn welcome tower
i wish i could tear it down, with all of my power
and now anytime i visit the castle, i feel pain
it’s become a desert of dead ideas, i feel insane
but all i’m doing is looking back on the past
this amazing place where my family could relax
we had parties every day, celebrated the occasion
now it’s an overgrown lawn, with so much abrasion
it was that old c~nt’s fault, he tore up the earth
made this historic place profitable so he could cash in worth
but all he’s done is made himself a fool
this town is dying, it’s all starting to unspool
shops are closing down, it’s like every week
spoke to one store owner, i could’ve weeped
she said rent is too high, the big companies win
families starting to starve, meanwhile ruffer grins
he’s just shut down yet another old club my grandparents would go to
what’s next? the chapel where my parent’s got married? who~
can you trust anymore when this c~nt has destroyed the town
instead of helping those in need, he’s brought it down
