carnage and treason meant they were off to h-ll
first nations had it the worst signing all the treaties
starving on the reserves, sure wasn’t easy
surrendering land rights and being forced onto reserves
had them revolting which got on some nerves

august 23 1876
cree, -ssiniboine and the other nations signed treaty 6
some of the terms included schools
but those just had too many rules
negotiated terms
like food rations in time of famine
caused the government to reexamine

verse 3:
1880s plains cree trying to join the siksika nation
advanced weapons, strong in numbers, required intense deliberation
secret meetings were held with many chiefs
almost no one witnessed the detailed debrief
1881 they got exposed for their lies
the u.s. government used their spies
the first nations had their weapons taken
now what could they use to capture their bacon?
the cree were forced to move to alberta’s battle river area
and after some resistance the moving was done
but with no tools they couldn’t even eat a hot-cross bun

verse 4:
april 2, 1885
there was a deadly shootout which left many not alive
driven by hunger and the defeat at duck lake
they stormed the frog lake outpost but they couldn’t catch a break
they k!lled nine white men, and dragged along their wives
which resulted in them being sent to their afterlives
they thought they had a win
but they didn’t realize they shot thomas quinn
nine months later, they were declared traitors
hanged for their crimes, thought to be the instigators
created the largest public hanging in canadian history
why they did it remains a mystery
