father: you made some friends

the boy: why now?
father: you need me now
the boy: no
father: then i need you
the boy: am i going to jail?
father: you want to?
the boy: that would be normal
father: you’re my son
the boy: you’re dead
the father smiles sadly
father: we’re both dead
weed starts falling in the swimming pool. it slowly covers the body of the boy that is floating in the pool. none observes it
father (cont’d): wish we could start-
the boy (cutting him off): we can’t… not anymore
the pool catches fire. it burns with big flames, then stops suddenly. none observes it. dude 2 enters and nods. the father shakes his head
father (to the boy): are you sure this is what you want?
the boy: no. but i want answers
father: you won’t find them in there
the boy: maybe. but i must start looking for them somewhere
father: you are childish
the boy:but i’m not a child
father: why aren’t you helping me out here?
the boy: i have no answers
the father and the the boy are sad. they messed it up and they know it. but things cannot be undone. the father opens his mouth, but doesn’t say anything. exhales
close up – the boys profile with the pool in the background
you can hear the door closing
“…i’m sorry we’re alone.”
the boy bows down his head. a black bird flies out from the pool and into the sky
