one night i was playing in colorado and this guy come back into the dressing room like he owned the place i assumed he did and i let him drink all my liquor
turns out he just he was just walk back there
so i get to talking to this guy and turns out he invented that shoe with all the holes in it
the croc shoes
i’m not sh~tting you either
the guy god~d~mned invented the croc shoes
says yeah
i say let’s party
everybody needs a sidekick you know and man he talks about he reminds me of arthur from that film and he insisted on this dead nut pursued of amus~m~nt at a constant page with unlimited funding and i just love to be standing there when it’s going on
he breaks out handcuffs all the time and n0body does sh~t about it
one time i was playing in montana of all places and i look out the crowd and see my buddy
george is his name
george boedecker i look down and i say holy sh~t what’s he doing all the way out here
i asked him and i say what are you doing down here he says i flew in to see your show and i said how did you fly in you know
that’s when i found out he a plane you know
and i wanted to see the f~cking plane and i was like how could i ride around them then you know
so so we decided that he would fly me to my next gig
it was a couple days later but it seems like it was just one
and when we got there i was tired and i wanted to do a good show for my friend
and as soon as i f~cking get up on stage this guy yells for free bird
then i said maybe later you know
that’s my closer
and the he yells it again and yells it a couple times during the first song and that song y’all set again and he is being a d~ck
and i am starting to get into a fight or a flight
i am starting to say less and less funny and more and more angry sh~t to this guy which tends to be less entertaining to the other people that aren’t involved in it at all
then i wasn’t sure what to do and i told him if he said it again i would leave but i only played two song but i am telling ya this colours run like the wind
at the first sign of altercation
so i shouldn’t have said that but i said it but once i have said it he owns free bird again and i have no choice but to leave and the booing started pretty quickly
cuz it would have only been one of them yelling free bird and the rest of them getting ripped off
so i go back to the dressing room and panicked and my buddy george comes back and says holy sh~t man that was the coolest thing i have ever seen
he says you got the coolest job mehn and i said am not so sure i still have the coolest job
and that’s not what the job was what i just did
that was different from the job hence the booing and he says can i try
and i didn’t know what he meant so i said yh f~ck it knock yourself out
and the next thing i know he is on stage
and he is saying to these people todd is not coming back cuz of all of y’all
and they booed him worse than they booed me and they threw sh~t at him and when he came back into the dressing room
he said that was the coolest f~cking thing i have ever been a part off
takes alot to amuse some of you guys
and then as god is my witness
we were driving back to where his plane was and he says to me
hey man what made you just run of like that anyway
i said that f~cking guy kept yelling free bird
he said that was me man
