let me take a second put myself in satan’s mind. if i knew you had a purpose but only so much time, i’d be more sublte in the way i attack. wouldn’t go for the throat, i’d do my best to distract. i’d try to hold you back, and knock you off your path. do whatever i can to keep you from god’s purpose and his plan. i can’t fight with god, hand to hand, so i’ll try my best to keep you from getting back on track. see, i know the bible way better than your pastors do. i know all god’s promises and his plans for you. so, i’m going to make you focus, not on where you’re going, but what you get. i’ll keep you stuck with tools like death. i’d try to keep you so caught up in the day to day, spending every ounce of energy just trying to maintain. keep you stressed, obsessed, depressed, crushed under the weight. laughing while i’m watching all of your time waste away
so, don’t worry saying: “what shall we eat? or “what shall we drink?” or “what shall we wear?” [laughter] works pretty well, right?
