the book is now doing flashbacks. its focusing on isabel. she is remembering her mother ruth. her mother was very kind and hard working. she took care of isabel and john, isabel’s younger brother. right now i’m just reading about the time ruth went to aid a woman giving birth

the delivery was a success. ruth will be greatly rewarded because the mistress has had many miscarriages before. the author lets us know that isabel’s dad died fighting for the n0bles. and isabel doesn’t know who john’s father is. its something her mom won’t talk about with her daughter
