this next one i’m about to do for you, i don’t know if any of you knew this, but i did a couple of tours this year. i did one with newton faulkner and i also did one with tidelines. i did tidelines first and in my set list was wild mountain thyme and everybody would sing along every single night and it was beautiful and i thought to prepare myself for the tour with newton faulkner, i wanted to write a song that i could get people to do that with
but with that song comes a little bit of a gripe. and if you’ve seen me sing this live before you’ve heard this gripе, but you know what, this is my show, so if i want to say it again i’m going to say it again. i’m sick of scottish folk musicians singing and writing songs about missing scotland and the rolling mountains and the hills and the wavеs when they’re already in bl~~dy scotland
and i say to myself i will not be party to it and i’m not doing it and that’ll be that. but i’m in england right now so it kind of counts. so this is a song about missing scotland, it’s called hometown and it goes like this
