i’m running out of patience, as is our time left to inhabit

we have so much knowledge and education we can fix it
but no creativity is allowed and from the people in power all i hear is crickets
civilization should produce security instead of plastic trinkets
i expose my expectations in these lasting vignettes

nationalize monopolies, price & profit controls why aren’t these actions discussed (try anything!)

from experts to economists, from lobbyists of private armaments
young people are sick of it, we want democratic control of our economy and parliament (parliament)

our expectations are borne of the world that adults shown us (boomers)
we were told if we pulled up our bootstraps, work ethic, and the onus (work hard!)

we could be anything!! but unless our talents are profitable (shareholders)
a market based society finds it intolerable, or at a minimum an obstacle (try again)

from art to philosophy, we can see the start of capitalist monopoly (wheres my monocle)
of things we had before, descartes or even socrates
but at this point, i am out of expectations honestly
b/c nothing is left of the world that the so called leaders and adults promised me
