let’s begin
with a slow chained guitar melody the song begins talking about a dream of something to keep. a way back home
he tells you he thinks you should know falling down and out alone when no one cares
so it feels like that’s all he never had, somewhere to belong
scratching himself falling asleep, doesn’t want to wake up
tries to get away from it, but all he wants is to dream more, because the dream is better than the reality
how does it feel falling down and out alone when no one cares?
maybe he wants you to know so you’ll see how necessary dreaming was for a person in his condition, who could only live a worthwhile life in a dream, while asleep, because there was no one to love him, no one to care, no one who gave a sh-t about this guy
no one to help, no one that was interested in his life. so the dream was the sweet escape. to live a different reality where he could at least live a worthwhile life even if only asleep
better to live one good reality than none. even if it was a dream reality
