suddenly a cloud covered up the sunlight

and my ride was nowhere in sight
then i looked around every which way
screaming somebody stole my bike today
days turned to weeks and my search wouldn’t stop
looked everywhere went to every bike shop
i had binoculars spying from the rooftops
i think i might have even almost told the cops
didn’t feel right not having my bike
stuck on the subway late at night
couple of times i almost got in a fight
you could say my future wasn’t looking so bright
searching got old it was not fun
maybe i should just bite the bullet and cop one
then one day when i thought it was done
my fate changed my reality spun
on the l train got off on my stop
walking up the steps and onto my block
my bike was sitting right there unlocked
green seat brown frame jaw dropped
so i hopped on and i rode it away
