we’ve noticed this trend with
people our sort-of age

where they’ve left university
they’re in jobs that they maybe don’t want
or they don’t kind of know who
they are as people yet

they just want to kind of try
and find their true selves
so they take a gap year and go travelling
to find their true selves

and there’s a word -ssociated with travelling
you may know it, it’s called wanderl-st
and you may have seen wanderl-st on a
pinterest board or an urban outfitters
throw pillow

and wanderl-st, the definition of it
is the irresistible desire to travel to
find one’s self

yeah, kind of w-nky

so we’ve noticed this trend with our friends
who are looking to find themselves and they
go travelling because everyone knows your
true self is always hiding in another country
so you’ll never find it unless you go travelling

and the friends who went travelling, we were
quite pessimistic about it because in my mind
what was gonna happen is you’re gonna go out
travelling, have the best time, then you’d come back

have to come back to the job that you originally
hated, earn more money in that stupid job, have to
go out travelling to make yourself feel better and it’d
just be a vicious cycle

but then we had friends who went travelling, when they
came back you could really see that there was something
in them that had changed and you see they were on the pathway
to finding themselves

and they’d show me pictures of them on their travels
relaxing on a beach, drinking a drink doing nothing
but you could really see they were finding themselves
so we started to get a bit more respective for people
who do go travelling to find themselves
