and the local record promotion guys, they reported back to columbia records
“there’s all these people calling in for this song by this guy named billy joel
n0body knows who he is or where he is”
we got the first phone call from clive davis
so i had a meeting with clive, and clive expressed an interest in signing me to columbia records
well, good evening, we are miraculously cross~town once again at sigma sound studios, and i am ed sciaky
