just because music is a tangible product does not mean it is not physically created by way of love and hard work
due to free downloads and torrents, many artists, both established and unsigned, are having trouble seeing profits of their work

however, if the person receiving the song were then to download the entire album or even the back catalogue, one would be offended
the initial act of sharing one or two songs could be seen as someone getting to squeeze the melon before they buy it
and if they like it, they fit by it although one would be happy walking into a supermarket and tasting the free sample
one would not walk into a restaurant to demand the free meal
someone has taken the time to spare the food you buy you pay for the product and the time
