and then a shining bright light appeared from above
as the cowboys all hollered and whistled and cheered
on the stage a ghostly white light appeared
in there, in the spotlight, all playing a song
were bob wills, tex ritter, and stevie ray vaughan

well they played “cowboy’s christmas” in stormy weather too
with t~bone, buddy holly and janis joplin beltin’ the blues
and when they finally had hit their last note
the light went out and upwards they all float

well they packed it all up as quick as they came
and in a blink of an eye it all gone again
but we all heard ’em shout as they pulled out of sight
“merry christmas y’all,” and to all a goodnight
