for years, the city had promised to fight poverty,but instead it spent all the money on building robots
nothing useful had come from it
people in the poor areas were angry.if they acted violently, they were shot in front of others
that’s what happened to gaia’s parents
she still remembered her mother screaming when her father lost control
then her mother also went mad
they both died because of it
gaia had to stay calm to avoid another breakdown
she was hiding above the two men, waiting for them to leave
she didn’t care about a civil war, she had only one goal
to find the man who had k!lled her parents
she still held onto her broken dream of a better city
as she listened, adrenaline spread through her body
she didn’t understand it, but she didn’t want more blood to be spilled
she wondered how a poor girl like her could get to the city center and warn the government about the coup
sweat ran down her face
her heart was beating fast
then she heard a loud crack
she stopped breathing
she wasn’t alone on the roof
she looked around, trying to stay quiet
another crack, this time from the other side
fear rose inside her
what had she gotten herself into?
before she could think more, a hand grabbed her shoulder and pulled her out of sight
